HOT ART Basel
June 14-20, 2010
The fifth consecutive edition of HOT ART Basel will take place 14-20 June 2010, parallel to Art Basel, taking part of the week that will gather all international art collectors, curators and professionals in one same site.
With the Claramatte Parkhaus as its new venue—an exceptional location in the city center just a few steps from Art Basel—HOT ART Basel will create an important artistic and social circuit between the events.
The very contemporary design of the Claramatte Parkhaus coincides with HOT ART’s essence and history as a platform for galleries and artists to exhibit in the international art market.
HOT ART establishes itself as a small size fair with the participation of 25 high-profile galleries, all carefully selected by a Curatorial Committee. The aim is to create an intimate, agreeable environment that invites visitors to explore the fair at their leisure, where they will find the latest trends and concepts in international contemporary art. The fair has come a long way since its inception as Balelatina in 2006.Its focus underwent a change when in 2008 it was renamed HOT ART in order to cover a broader spectrum of galleries and artists from around the world, giving the project a more global profile.
Throughout its history, HOT ART has carried on its mission of positioning participating galleries and artists, and acting as a springboard towards other prestigious projects such as exhibitions at both public and private institutions or at other international fairs.
November 24-28, 2010
HOT ART will present its first edition in Mexico City at the World Trade Center on 24-28 November 2010.
HOT ART Mexico will strategically take place one week before Art Basel Miami Beach to allow collectors and exhibitors as well as other art professionals to participate consecutively in both fairs.
HOT ART Mexico is a new alternative on the calendar of international art fairs, through which foreign and local galleries can make their presence felt in the growing Mexican art market.
Mexico City’s thriving contemporary art scene is one of the city’s most fascinating features. HOT ART will offer an outstanding program highlighting this strength, which will run concurrently with the fair.
In the activities programmed for HOT ART, the public and private sectors will join forces with the common goal of promoting the art and culture of Mexico and all Latin America.
