IRREVERSIBLE is seeking contemporary visual artists for our upcoming jury competition. Winning work will be published by IRREVERSIBLE Limited Edition Magazine during the Art Basel Miami week Dec 2013. Enjoy other opportunities to win as twenty-five (25) artists will be selected by a panel or highly noted jurors for recognition in the Publication and through a physical exhibition!

The working independent Gallery 2014 provides an unprecedented opportunity for new and emerging artists from all over the world, as well as local and student artists who might otherwise lack access to the public, to showcase their quality, original pieces and sell them for fair value. In addition, the unique gallery will offer an “artists-in-residence” program, skills workshops, open studio time, gallery tours, art appreciation and educational lectures, fundraising events for other nonprofit organizations and more. Gallery 2014’s surplus funds will go to support the arts and arts education in South Florida.

Born from co-founder Elizabeth Sanjuan’s longtime passion for art and digital photography, Gallery 2014 features all mediums to mention few: photography, drawings, paintings and sculpture from emerging artists from Florida and around the world. Special attention will be given to representations figurative works, portraiture and the depiction of people in their daily interaction with the world.

Sanjuan and her husband/Gallery 2014 co-founder Ken Brown created the Sanjuan-Brown Hollywood Arts Foundation, Inc. dba Gallery 2014 to become a community supporter of the arts and leading Florida cultural institution. They are dedicated supporters of the arts in South Florida through their personal artwork, museum board participations and donations both through their charitable foundation, Fundación Sanjuan, and as individuals.

Juror Luis Valle


Valle received his formal training from Florida State University in Tallahassee Florida where he received a Bachelor’s of Fine Arts degree in visual arts while taking courses in painting and metal fabrication. He later went on to receive a Masters in Arts Degree from New York University in New York, New York. Here he continued to develop his painting techniques while also creating works in video. Shortly after finishing school Valle was awarded an artist residency at BCAT (Brooklyn Cable Access Television) and the Rotunda Galleries multi-media labs. Here he created work, which was broadcasted on the BCAT Networks public access channel in Brooklyn and then later on MNN in Manhattan. In the past Luis has been very active in making artwork with kids serving as art teacher at Toussaint Louverture Elementary in Little Haiti and the Miami Childrens Museum. He worked with organizations such as Arto-conecto and Kids-art as well as a teaching artist for Arts for Learning Miami, a non-profit organization dedicated to bringing quality art education to children throughout Miami-Dade County.

Juror Carl Juste award-winning Miami Herald photographer.


Juste has covered many international and national stories for The Miami Herald.  He has carried out extensive assignments for the Miami Herald, in Pakistan, Afghanistan and Iraq.  In addition, he has worked on three documentary projects for the Historical Museum of Southern Florida: At the Crossroad: Afro-Cuban Orisha Arts in Miami (2001) and South American Musical Traditions in Miami (2002),  Haitian Community Arts: Images by Iris PhotoCollective, and all are funded in part bythe National Endowment for the Arts. Juste has been a guest lecturer for various national organizations and universities. He has received numerous awards for his work, including the Robert F. Kennedy Journalism Award. His work has been exhibited in various prestigious institutions and galleries in Cuba, Dominican Republic and United States.  Carl-Philipe Juste is one of the co-founders of Iris Photo Collective in 1998, a collaboration to create a new context in order to explore and document therelationship of people of color to the world.  Juste currently founded IPC Visual Lab, a new school ofthought teaching the art of photojournalism as a visual language.
